Internal or threadless jewelry is preferable to external posts for inserting into a fresh piercing due to its smooth end so no damage is done.
Please note the 18G have a 0.8 thread pattern vs 16G at 0.9mm thread pattern.
If you want a taper that works with the 18G post you must get an 18G 0.8mm thread pattern. (OP900-1808)
